It is widely believed that mankind’s demise will be at their own hands. That (1) Science FX will become reality.
As in this scenario.
We (2) Wake Up to just an ordinary day. But changes are taken place rapidly across the world.
A global Pharmaceutical corporation and it’s ever greedy bosses decide they aren’t making enough Profit so they set in motion to design a genetically modified Flu Virus with an antibiotic cure that would only be available from their own corporation. After successful trials they decide to release this on an unsuspecting town. Before they know it the Virus has (3) Flown. It spreads rapidly and soon becomes a worldwide epidemic. But (4) Something’s Wrong. The (5) Virus Spreads faster than the company anticipates. Within 4 months of its release, over one hundred thousand die worldwide. Demand for the vaccine outstrips supply. The death toll rises.
Then something strange happens. Nature intervenes. A (6) Virus Mutation occurs. A strange phenomenon begins to unfold. Those that can’t get the vaccine die within weeks. Those that can live and seem to recover. Then they too die, only to have the antibody reanimate their corpses. The antibiotic cure turns them into (7) Walking Dead.
This new turn of events, helped on by Mother Nature spreads rapidly throughout the world. Whole cities are lost. Whole countries grow silent. The system breaks down.
Yet there are survivors here and there. In the (8) Lost City you find a few, a handful. Fighting to survive. Fighting in (9) Defiance against the onslaught of Zombies. Against the extinction of Mankind. A (10) Last Outpost to defend with hope and prayers. But amongst these survivors are some of those same greedy men that started the apocalypse in the first place. Still fighting for power. Still planning a richer outcome. These same men decide to eradicate the Zombies and the Virus they originally designed, by nuking certain cities. Without any thought they do just that. And each country that can decide to follow suit. Adding to the Zombie apocalypse, a nuclear one. They even name the missiles the (11) Angel of Life. Yet still after this there are (12) Dead Walking.
Unknown to these survivors and what’s left of the world population Nature again intervenes. The Zombies start to die off. With little or no live flesh to keep them animated, they fall dormant. And as they are dormant Bacteria eat away their already rotten flesh. A few hundred thousand pray (13) In hope the Dead stay Dead.
Yet what hope remains quickly begins to dissolve. The damage done to the planet is irreversible. The ozone disintegrates. The atmosphere filters out into space. Water evaporates. Air becomes thinner, till soon there is no more to breathe. The few survivors left take their (14) Last Breath and slowly die. The once blue and green planet of the solar system turns brown. Leaving it a (15) Dead Earth.
